Spay & neuter

Spayed or neutered, without the car ride

The operation happens at our partner clinic, because it needs a sterile theatre. Everything around it is ours: collected from your door in the morning, home again the same evening. No overnight stay. One price covers both journeys, the operation, the recovery cone and the medication.

What's included

What the package covers

One price, no line items added on the day. The part owners dread is the logistics — the carrier, the drive, the drop-off, the second drive back — and that is the part we take off you.

!

The surgery is performed by the veterinary team at our partner clinic, in their theatre, under their care. We arrange it, we handle the journey both ways, and we are your point of contact throughout the day.

How it works

Four steps, one of them yours

Your only job is the fasting instructions the night before.

1. Message us

Tell us your pet’s name, whether it’s a cat or dog, and their age, breed and weight. We’ll confirm whether now is a good time or whether it’s better to wait.

2. We book the date

We agree a date with the clinic and send you the preparation instructions, including when to withhold food the night before.

3. We collect

We come to your door in the morning and take your pet to the clinic ourselves — not a courier, not a taxi. You don’t need a carrier, a car or a morning off work.

4. Back home

Your pet is back with you the same evening, once the clinic’s team is satisfied they’ve recovered from the anaesthetic. They come home with their cone, their medication and written aftercare instructions.

Why it's worth doing

More than preventing litters

Females

Spaying prevents pyometra, a serious infection of the uterus that often needs emergency surgery later in life, and it removes the risk of unwanted litters and of the behaviour that comes with being in season.

Males

Neutering tends to reduce roaming, fighting and urine marking, which in Dubai also means less chance of your cat going missing or your dog running into traffic.

!

Timing matters and it is not the same for every animal. Cats and small dogs are often done earlier than large-breed dogs. Send us your pet’s age, breed and weight and the veterinarian will tell you honestly whether to go ahead now or wait.

Being straight with you

What this is and isn't

It is not surgery at home

Spaying and neutering needs a sterile theatre, surgical lighting and proper anaesthetic monitoring. None of that travels in a car, and we will not pretend otherwise. Your pet goes to a clinic for the operation itself.

You stay in the loop

We collect and drop off ourselves, so you are handing your pet to the same people you booked with. You’ll know roughly when to expect them back and how to reach us all day. If anything changes, you hear it from us rather than finding out at the door.

Pricing

What it costs

The price depends on whether your pet is a cat or a dog, male or female, and on your dog’s weight — a spay is a bigger operation than a neuter, and a large dog is a bigger operation than a small one.

!

Message us with your pet’s species, sex, age and weight and we will give you the full cost before anything is booked — collection, the operation, the cone, the medication and the drive home all in. You will never be quoted one figure and charged another on the day.

Questions

Spay & neuter questions

Do you offer spaying and neutering?

Yes, for cats and dogs. The surgery itself is performed at our partner clinic rather than at home, because it needs a sterile theatre and proper anaesthetic monitoring.

One price covers the whole thing: we collect your pet from your home, the clinic's veterinarian checks them over before the anaesthetic, the operation is done, and your pet comes home with a recovery cone and their medication once they have recovered. The drive both ways is included.

What age should my cat or dog be spayed or neutered?

It depends on the species, breed, size and your pet's general health, so the veterinarian confirms the right timing for your pet rather than applying one rule to every animal. Larger dog breeds in particular are often done later than cats.

Message us with your pet's age, breed and weight and we will tell you whether now is a good time or whether it is better to wait.

Will my pet come home the same day, and who collects them?

Yes, the same day. We collect your pet in the morning and bring them home in the evening, once the clinic's veterinary team is satisfied they have recovered from the anaesthetic. There is no overnight stay.

We do the collection and the drop-off ourselves, so your pet is not handed to a courier or put in a taxi. You will know roughly when to expect them back and how to reach us during the day.

Which areas of Dubai and Sharjah do you cover?

Pet Lovers provides home visits across most areas of Dubai and Sharjah. Availability depends on the exact location and veterinarian schedule. Please provide your area, address or location pin so the team can confirm availability.

Do you offer same-day appointments?

Same-day appointments may be available depending on veterinarian availability, your location and the nature of the request. They are not guaranteed. Please contact Pet Lovers as early as possible to check availability.

What happens if my pet needs X-rays or hospitalisation?

If your pet requires X-rays, advanced imaging, emergency surgery, oxygen therapy, hospitalisation or intensive monitoring, the veterinarian will recommend referral to an appropriate veterinary clinic or hospital. Home visits are suitable for many consultations and treatments, but they do not replace hospital care when advanced support is required.

Routine spaying and neutering is different: we arrange that at our partner clinic, collect your pet from home and bring them back, with transport included.

This is not an emergency service

Pet Lovers is not a substitute for a fully equipped emergency veterinary hospital. Do not wait for a home visit if your pet has any of the following:

  • Severe difficulty breathing
  • Collapse or loss of consciousness
  • Uncontrolled bleeding
  • Major trauma
  • Repeated or prolonged seizures
  • Suspected poisoning
  • Severe abdominal swelling
  • Inability to urinate
  • Sudden paralysis
  • Extreme or uncontrollable pain

Proceed directly to the nearest emergency veterinary hospital. Do not delay emergency transport while waiting for a home-visit response. If you are unsure, message us with your pet's symptoms and we will advise whether a home visit is appropriate.

Ready when you are

Send us your pet’s age, breed and weight and we’ll tell you whether now is the right time, and what it costs.
