Preventive care

Vaccinations at home, without the carrier

Routine vaccinations, microchipping, parasite prevention and wellness examinations for cats and dogs — carried out in your own home, anywhere in Dubai and Sharjah.

What's included

Everything preventive care covers

A preventive visit can cover any of the following, depending on what your pet is due for.

!

The veterinarian will review your pet's medical history and examine them first, to confirm that vaccination is appropriate before anything is given. Which vaccines your pet is due for, and when, is confirmed by the vet — message us with your pet's age and vaccination history and we'll advise.

Which pets

Who a home vaccination visit works best for

Cats and dogs only

Pet Lovers treats cats and dogs. We don't currently see birds, rabbits, reptiles or other exotic pets.

Kittens and puppies

First vaccination courses, microchipping and municipality registration — all handled at home, so a young animal's first veterinary experiences aren't a car journey and a waiting room.

Cats stressed by carriers

If getting your cat into a carrier is the hardest part of a vet visit, this removes it entirely. The examination happens in the room they already feel safe in.

Anxious, elderly or multi-pet homes

Anxious dogs, elderly or mobility-impaired pets, and households with several animals due at once — all straightforward at home. Multiple pets can usually be seen in one appointment.

!

Please tell us before the visit if your pet has previously bitten, scratched, escaped, shown aggression or needed sedation at a veterinary appointment. The veterinarian may adjust or stop the examination if continuing would be unsafe.

Before we arrive

What to have ready

Vaccination card or records

Your pet's vaccination card or previous medical records, if you have them — they tell the vet what your pet has already had and what's due.

Current medications

A list or photograph of anything your pet is currently taking.

A quiet, well-lit room

Somewhere calm for the examination. Keep cats in a secure room before we arrive; for dogs, have a collar or harness ready.

Honest limits

When a clinic visit is the right call

If advanced care is needed

If your pet needs X-rays, advanced imaging, surgery, oxygen therapy, hospitalisation or intensive monitoring, the veterinarian will recommend referral to an appropriate veterinary clinic or hospital.

If the examination raises something

A preventive visit includes an examination. If that turns up something needing equipment we don't carry, we'll tell you plainly and point you to the right place rather than proceeding regardless.

!

Home visits are suitable for many consultations and treatments, but they do not replace hospital care when advanced support is required.

FAQ

Vaccination questions

Can you vaccinate and microchip pets at home?

Yes. Routine vaccinations and microchipping for cats and dogs can usually be performed during a home visit. The veterinarian will first review the pet's medical history and perform an examination to confirm that vaccination is appropriate.

How much does a veterinary home visit cost?

House visits start from AED 99 depending on your location, and the visit fee is charged in addition to the services provided. A veterinary consultation is AED 150, and most vaccinations are AED 150 each.

Vaccination packages start from AED 450 and include the house visits. The full price list is on our services page, and the total for your appointment is always confirmed before it is booked.

What should I prepare before the veterinarian arrives?

Please prepare your pet's vaccination card or previous medical records if available, a list or photograph of any current medications, relevant photos or videos of the problem and a quiet, well-lit room for the examination.

Cats should be kept in a secure room before the veterinarian arrives. For dogs, please have a collar or harness available.

Do you offer same-day appointments?

Same-day appointments may be available depending on veterinarian availability, your location and the nature of the request. They are not guaranteed. Please contact Pet Lovers as early as possible to check availability.

Which areas of Dubai and Sharjah do you cover?

Pet Lovers provides home visits across most areas of Dubai and Sharjah. Availability depends on the exact location and veterinarian schedule. Please provide your area, address or location pin so the team can confirm availability.

Do you treat birds, rabbits or exotic pets?

Pet Lovers currently treats cats and dogs only.

This is not an emergency service

Pet Lovers is not a substitute for a fully equipped emergency veterinary hospital. Do not wait for a home visit if your pet has any of the following:

  • Severe difficulty breathing
  • Collapse or loss of consciousness
  • Uncontrolled bleeding
  • Major trauma
  • Repeated or prolonged seizures
  • Suspected poisoning
  • Severe abdominal swelling
  • Inability to urinate
  • Sudden paralysis
  • Extreme or uncontrollable pain

Proceed directly to the nearest emergency veterinary hospital. Do not delay emergency transport while waiting for a home-visit response. If you are unsure, message us with your pet's symptoms and we will advise whether a home visit is appropriate.
